As were the first TMS program available in North Carolina, we realize the impact on those traveling to Wilmington for TMS treatment. We understand that being away from home for a number of weeks can be difficult and in an effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible, there are some helpful details that you may wish to consider when making plans.

Wilmington Attractions

Wilmington has a lot to offer out of town guests. Not only do we have pristine Wrightsville Beach (www.surfchex.com) where you can walk the beach and enjoy our beautiful weather, but we also have charming historic downtown Wilmington where you can enjoy a stroll along the riverfront on the famous Cape Fear River, enjoy a river cruise, eat at a selection of great restaurants and shop too. Accommodations

Wilmington has a lot of accommodations to choose from and we have a few suggestions and considerations based on our experience and feedback from our patients.

Compared to larger cities and beach resorts, Wilmington has affordable accommodations and great places to eat. Wilmington fortunately caters to all ages and interests – it is a beach resort town, a University town (UNC-Wilmington campus is here), and boasts beautiful historic downtown Wilmington, all in one place!

• We recommend staying at The Hilton Garden Inn Hotel at Mayfaire Town Center where we have a corporate discount that will give you a 20% discount on already reasonable prices (www.wilmingtonmayfairetowncenter.stayhgi.com). It is a convenient distance to shops, movie theatre and the beach and offers a complementary pass to Gold’s Gym. Call the hotel direct to make reservations at (910) 509-4046 and request the local discount under code SC1, or they can book online. If booking online, go to their website at http://www.wilmingtonmayfairetowncenter.stayhgi.com/ (yes, it’s long!) and enter the dates needed. Then, the Reservation Details page comes up and at the bottom, under Special Accounts, enter SC1 into the “Group/Convention Code” box. The 20% discount automatically pops up.

• If you plan to bring along your pet, we would recommend the Residence Inn Wilmington Landfall at www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/ilmri-residenceinn-wilmington-landfall.

• Another consideration may be to bring a friend or family member and book a beach condo or house for a month and we can refer you to a real estate agent who will help you locate the perfect accommodation for your needs.

• If you are somewhat close to Wilmington but prefer not to drive every day M-F for treatment, some patients have traveled on Monday and Friday and stay in Wilmington on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Please let us know if you need help with anything as we are available and familiar with most of the needs of people visiting Wilmington and we are glad to help. Also, please give us feedback as your experiences will be put to good use in helping us help others.
